The two dates people confuse
There are two dates in play and they are not the same date.
- The event date. October 6 and 7, 2026. Access is checked when it opens, not when it ends.
- Your billing date. Set by the trial length on your sign-up screen, counted from the day you start.
Confusing those two is how people end up paying for a membership before a sale they were trying to shop. The event date is public. The billing date is yours.
The arithmetic, in one line
Take the trial length shown on your sign-up screen. Count forward from your candidate start date. If October 6 still falls inside that count, the date works. If it does not, move the start date later.
Two failure modes, and both are avoidable. Starting too early means the trial can lapse before the event opens. Starting after October 7 means the event is already gone, and the trial is shopping a normal week.
If your trial is long relative to the gap, waiting costs you nothing, and starting early buys you the early deals that are already live. If your trial is short, starting closer to October 6 is the safer choice.
What to verify on your own account
- Your trial length, exactly as shown before you confirm.
- Your billing date, once the membership is active.
- Your reminder. Set one for the day before billing, in your own calendar.
