What is included with the membership
Using Key as a delivery destination does not carry its own separate plan. It sits inside the membership the way the other delivery options do. You are not paying twice for the privilege of putting a box indoors.
That is the clean part. The membership covers the option. What it cannot cover is a garage that has to talk to Amazon in the first place.
What needs hardware
In-garage delivery relies on a compatible opener or device, and compatibility is Amazon’s list. If your home already has a supported setup, there is nothing more to buy. If it does not, the question becomes whether a device is worth it for the parcels you actually receive.
Worth naming plainly. A feature that needs hardware is only free if you already own the hardware. For everyone else it is a small purchase, and the maths is about peace of mind rather than a subscription line.
The honest answer
No separate Key subscription, membership tied, and a hardware requirement that may or may not apply to you. If a garage route is not realistic, the no-hardware options are a locker or a pickup point, both of which ask for a walk instead of a device.
