Prime Video Downloads for Offline Travel
This is the perk nobody lists and everybody uses. Prime Video lets you download eligible titles for offline viewing, which is the whole difference between a long flight and a long flight. It is included with the membership, subject to rules Amazon sets.

How downloads work
Worth naming plainly. A download is not a permanent copy. It has its own rules, which is why you prepare before the gate, not at it.
You pick an eligible title in the app and download it to the device, then watch without a connection. Not every title is downloadable, and downloads carry their own timing rules, so a file you saved months ago may need to be refreshed before it plays.
Prepare before you leave, not at the gate. Airport wifi is exactly the wrong time to discover that the show you wanted is not downloadable.
Preparing for a trip
- Check eligibility on the title before you plan around it.
- Download over reliable wifi well before departure.
- Download more than you need, since a changed plan or a delayed flight eats the margin.
- Sign in first, because downloads are tied to the account, not the device alone.
The limit is storage, not the catalog. Your phone has a finite amount of room, so the real task is deciding what earns it.
Where it fits in the bundle
Downloads are the reason a Prime Video subscription is more useful than a screen only service for anyone who travels. On the ground it changes nothing. In the air it changes the whole afternoon.
That seasonal usefulness is worth naming. A perk that matters twice a year still matters, as long as you count it for what it is rather than pretending it is a daily benefit. See the digital guide for the full set.
Buy it if you travel and watch, and you will download before you go.
Skip it if you never watch offline. A download feature you never use is a paragraph on a list, not part of your week.
