Amazon Prime Digital Benefits Explained
This is the half of the Prime membership that reads like a buffet and behaves like a set of side dishes. Prime Video is the exception and it is genuinely strong. The rest, from Amazon Music to Prime Gaming, is real and modest. The combined score is 3/7 because that is the honest average.
So this page does the thing a feature list will not. It puts a number beside each benefit and tells you which ones a normal person actually uses. A benefit you never open is not value. It is a line on a comparison table.

The short answer. You get Prime Video with ads, a limited Amazon Music tier, a rotating Prime Reading library, Amazon Photos storage, Alexa+ where available, and monthly Prime Gaming claims. One of those carries real weight, and the rest are worth counting only if you would pay for them alone.

Prime Video is the exception
It is the one digital benefit that can replace a bill you already pay. That is why it scores 5/7. If it stands in for a separate streaming subscription, it carries real monthly value, and it becomes the strongest argument in the bundle after delivery. Prime Video is included, with ads, alongside a paid catalog and add on channels.
What it does to a week
It can end a subscription you were paying for. That substitution, not the catalog size, is where the value lives.
The digital bundle is a set menu. One course is worth the cover price on its own, and the rest exist so the menu looks long. Order the set for the course you wanted. Do not order it for the garnish.
The rest, kept in proportion
- Amazon Music is a tier, not the full service. It rewards playlist listeners and frustrates pickers.
- Prime Reading is a rotating selection. It is a nice shelf, not a library you control.
- Amazon Photos saves money only if you currently pay for photo storage.
- Alexa+ matters if you already run Alexa, and does nothing if you do not.
- Prime Gaming hands out monthly claims, which are only value if you remember to take them and would have bought them.
None of these is a lie. None of them is a reason to join. That distinction is the whole service this page provides.
Counting it honestly
Add up only the digital benefits you would pay for as separate subscriptions, at what you would pay for them. If that total beats a streaming bill you carry, the bundle has earned its place. If it does not, the case for the membership rests where it should, on delivery.
Two smaller notes. Digital benefits are not the same for every account, since Amazon controls availability and catalogs region by region. And some of them, like storage and streaming, interact with Household sharing, which changes who can use them and how many streams are in play. Do these benefits cost extra?
Some do. The included tier of each benefit comes with the membership, and the fuller versions, like the ad free streaming upgrade or the unlimited music service, are separate purchases. The bundle gives you the entry tier, not the top tier.
Do digital benefits share across a household?
