Prime Video vs Netflix for the Money
This is not a catalog contest, because catalogs churn and nobody can referee them. It is a model question. Prime Video arrives inside a membership that also ships your parcels. Netflix is a streaming subscription and nothing else. The honest comparison runs on what each one bundles.

The tables never hold still, and neither should your read of them. Both services change tiers and terms on their own schedules, so treat any figure here as a pointer rather than a fact.
The honest way to compare
- If you already use the bundle: Prime Video is close to free at the margin, and the comparison is not close.
- If you only want streaming: a standalone subscription is the cleaner purchase, because you are not financing shipping you do not use.
- If you would subscribe to both: count the two bills and then count what the Prime bundle replaces elsewhere.
The bundle is the argument, not the catalog. A streaming service compared to a streaming service is a wash. A streaming service compared to a membership that also moves your parcels is a different question.
Where people go wrong
They compare one catalog to another and forget that one of them comes attached to the thing they were buying anyway. If your delivery habit already justified a Prime membership, the streaming is upside rather than a line item. If it did not, then streamers should be compared as streamers, and the standalone option wins on simplicity.
Run the membership side of that on the break even calculator, then decide what the streaming is worth on top. Two questions, answered in the right order, beat one blended guess.
Buy it if the membership already earns its place and streaming is a bonus you will use.
Skip it if you would be buying the membership for the streaming alone. In that case, buy the streaming service and keep the rest out of it.
