In your account under the membership settings, alongside the plan and the payment method. It is shown once because it does not change on its own. The date in your account is the authority, ahead of any email you half remember or any figure from an article.
Read it where it is written, and copy it somewhere you actually look. A date you have not written down is a date you will meet by surprise.
Why writing it down matters
Amazon’s reminder settings are a courtesy, not your calendar, and they are not a promise about when the charge hits. The habit that works is the boring one: note the date, set a reminder for the day before it, in a calendar you open daily.
The same habit covers the rest of the calendar too, from the fall deal event to the holiday season. Dates you own are the ones that never surprise you.
How it affects plan changes
A renewal date is what a pause, a downgrade, or a cancellation is timed against. Change a plan near the date and the effect lands in the current cycle rather than the next. So find the date first, then make the change.
If you are weighing a plan change, start with downgrading annual to monthly, and if the question is whether to keep the membership at all, whether Prime is worth it comes first.
Buy it if you know your date, you want the membership, and the renewal fits your calendar.
